Nicholas Scott is the president of Traverse Technical Management Consulting Inc., (Traverse) a firm that provides knowledge, methods and tools to help companies improve overall effectiveness and capability. Along with process consulting Traverse also has as strong background in quality management, product compliance and product certification in local as well as international markets.

Nicholas was formerly a Product Group Manager at CSA International where he managed the certification of hundreds of products and traveled throughout North America and Europe.

Seeing the struggles and lost opportunity many clients experience due to lack of business integration with design and compliance issues, Nicholas has committed himself to helping clients use business processes to their advantage. Recently he has assisted clients to get products for Hazardous Locations into the European market using ATEX Marking. He has developed training material to allow engineers to incorporate compliance requirements into the design process to reduce development costs and improve time to market.

Currently, Nicholas is assisting a client to implement a quality management system to ISO 13485 (ISO 9001 with specific modifications for medical products) and another to develop processes for bring pressure devices into Canada.
Nick has been invited to give seminars on product certification to fourth year mechanical engineering students at the University of Alberta and provide insight into product compliance and quality systems at Grant MacEwan University, the Center for Research and Innovation, and the Central Alberta Regional Manufacturers Association.
Nicholas is a member of Canadian Standards Association and participates on the Industrial Control Equipment Technical Committee and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Committee, as well as The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada).
